Hey guys, 

 

i'm working on a composite component and get the following massage after starting OptiStruct:

what does that mean and what have i got to do, that i can run the simulation successfuly.

    Hello,

     

    please check your RBE3 elements, as stated.

     

    Set all trans dofs to 1, all rot dofs to zero, all weights to 1. Check if there any free ends, or dependecies.

    I am facing a similar issue, but with a different element type


     *** ERROR #  722 ***
     An invalid rigid element.
     This RBAR is not connected with any structural element.
         RBAR element id =   93759525
     independent grid id =   92382982
       dependent grid id =   91905147
     Note: If this rigid element is also connected with other rigid elements,
     then this error means that there is rigid body mode or mechanism remained
     in this rigid element chain due to lack of connected structural elements.

     *** INFORMATION #  743
     The total number of rigid elements, whose rotational dependent d.o.f.
     are removed because there is no need to constrain those d.o.f., is      5098

     *** INFORMATION #  744
     The number of autospcs that will be created to remove the rigid body
     rotation in RBAR and RBE2 is       1931

    The independent node of rigid element is either connected with other rigid element as a dependent node.
    Plz check.

    Hi Rahul,

     

    Thanks for your reply.

     

    The rigid (RBAR) in question is acting as a contact between 3 layered shell structure, I have attached an image of the FEM scenario. The Model has run successfully for NMA [NASTRAN] but in optistruct is throwing error for all the RBAR location.

     

    There is also issue about the RAM memory :
