Is it possible to optimize a part in Optistruct for the same load but different boundary conditions in the same run and with equal weight factors? If possible what is the best approach and if not, any recommendations?

Regards,

EZ

    Hi EZ,

    In the optimization problem, you can create several subcases. OptiStruct will take into account all the subcases to optimize your part.

    In your case, you can create some subcases :

    Sub1 = Load + BC1

    Sub2 = Load + BC2

    Subi = Load + BCi

    Then you can create a 'weighted compliance' response. With this response, you can add a weight on your subcases.

    Christophe, thanks for the tip.

    I tried that but something does not look right. When I look at the results in HyperView it only brings the results for the first subcase (I am running a small problem with only 2 subcases) and the element density results are for the 1st subcase only. However if I view the results in Hypermesh it brings all the results but still the element density results look to be only for the 1st subcase only.

    Anyone knows what I might be doing wrong?

    Regards,

    EZ
