2d contact between surface edges in a 2d model

Is it possible to create contact between two surfaces edges in Optistruct? does it require a special interface type? I tried creating a contact interface with an element set for master and a node set for slave, but it doesn't work. The solver outputs this error:

*** ERROR # 1762 ***

Incorrect SET type for MSID

This video explains how to do what I'm trying to do in the Ansys profile. I would like to know how to do it in Bulk data format.

Are you using Nodes for defining master in your contact model?

if yes, please include elements in master instead of node and try.

I deleted the sets and interfaces I had and created new ones with elements for both master and slave and now it is working. Thanks.

Hi. could you explain me what u excatly defined?

i just get few elements (as you can see on the picture below) for two contactsurfaces. It does not work. What did u defined correctly as Interface and as contactsurfaces?

Hi @ahkrit

Looks like the way the contact surface element selected is wrong.

Select the elements which come in contact. The from face elements may not come in contact but the bottom elements of yellow component and top elements of blue components come in contact upon application of load.

hi. i just found the option free edges. with it it works better. but somehow with the contact parameters i can not solve the contact with zero distance between the components. I got always an other displacement at contactpoints. What can be the problem? A displacement with the blue loadcollector at the yellow component is defined.
