Error element quality check
Hey Guys!
I have a problem during optistruct run. The run gave me errors during element quality check. I know some of my weld elements are pretty awful, but I need to know which ones. The solver always give me the ID number of the failed elements, but there are to many of them. So here is my question: How can I know which criteria use the optistruct solver? I mean the skewness, jacobian etc... The solver don't use my criteria file, that's sure. In preferences > check element settings there are some options so, I can choose between solvers wich one will check the quality of the elements. There's no information about what's the quality of the mesh what the solver need to get run down. Do you guys have any information about it?
Please share your ideas, thanks in advance!
Best regards,
Tüki

Hi Tuki
What kind of elements are you using? 3-d or 2-d?
For 3-d elements I suggest you to control tet collapse (that should be greater than 0.1).

Hi
in hw optistruct reference help, you search 'checkel', there are threshold values of solver spec.
but anytime you can turn it off by control card 'param>checkel>no'

Hi Stefano1988!
I use 2D elements.

Hi tinh!
I know that I can solve that, but this model has to run without bypass the element check, because this is the expectation of my company.0 -

Hi @Tüki
did you find it in optistruct reference help?
just FYI: enter panel analysis>control cards> ELEMQUAL to set the criteria that solver will use to check
Hi tinh! I've just found it in the reference help, after I read your comment. Thanks for answer.
