how to group element inside a closed surface volume

Hi!

I wonder if it's possible in hypermesh

to select elements inside a closed surface volume (e.g. stl surface) into a new component?

For example, there is a meshed cubic, then I want to select some elements that is inside a enclosed spherical surface?

As per I understood you want to move element from the cubic surface to spherical surface ,for this go to organise subpanel you can find this in the collectors toolbar.In that select elements >select elements and click on move

Hi! Thanks for your suggestion.

But sorry I might not express myself clearly.

The cubic is meshed with solid elements (tetra or hex elements), and I want to select the solid elements that is inside a closed volume defined by a stl surface.

Is there any way to do the above?

Of course my problem is much more complex geometry than this.

Hi there,

there is too much elems that you was boring to select all of them????

I think you can do like these

1) make shell (faces) for the solid elems

2) select shell elems 'by collector' ^faces

3) continue selecting 'by adjacent', you will get the outer solid elements

4) now select by 'reverse' you will get the solid elements inside the body
