Remove Bars in S-Concrete

Hello Tom,
Thanks for reaching out through the Altair Community forums. This is Andrés, from Tech Support, and I’ll be glad to answer your question.
Unfortunately, the bar layout you intend to reproduce is not supported by S-CONCRETE, as the program lays out reinforcement to match the different code provisions. For columns, we cannot have varying numbers of bars in each layer, as per these code provisions. This is possible, though, for beam sections, in which the user can modify the number of bars per layer on S-CONCRETE, so you could approximate your column’s shape to a beam section and lay the reinforcement out as desired, however, note that the code checks would take the section into account as a beam.
We hope this clears things up. In case further assistance is required, do not hesitate to reach out to us through Altair’s Community.

Appreciate the quick reply.
Perhaps the programming team will consider adding this feature in the future.
There are many cases where the bars would not be exact, for example moving bars to fit baseplate anchors, or embed plate nelson studs.
Thanks!
