conversion between solver format

Hi,

I set up the FE model under the user profile of Abaqus in Hypermesh.

But now I need to carry out a Topology Optimization for the that model.

So I need to convert the model from Abaqus format to Radioss(Bulk data format).

The online help documentation gives some clues

(HTTP://www.altairhyperworks.com/(S(3fu2zyrlbyi03xcofiue25jd))/hwhelp/Altair/hw11.0/help//engsol/engsol.htm?conversion_between_solver_formats.htm and http://www.altairhyperworks.com/(S(3fu2zyrlbyi03xcofiue25jd))/hwhelp/Altair/hw11.0/help///hwd/hwd.htm?radioss_bulk_data_format_to_abaqus_conversion.htm).

But they are not so explicit.

According to the online help, It is a file 'ConfigurationFile.txt' that dominates the conversion process.

But this txt file addresses only four aspects, namely element type, material, property, and BCs&loads.

Now I wonder that can I edit this txt file so that element sets or node sets, contact pairs can also be converted properly?

I'm a beginner with HyperWorks, and I'm looking for your help! Thanks!

one basic method is (not always gives perfect results but i usually use),

    - backup your data first,

    - open the abaqus model with abaqus template,

    - change your template from abaqus to radioss bulk,

    - update all elements (1d and 1d&2d),

    - export it and import it with the new template,

    - check your model
