Hello,

I am doing a thermal analysis, and I would like to deactivate a contact between load steps. How can I do that?

Thanks,

You can use the MODCHG card to deactivate contacts for a certain load case.

    Hi Ben,

Thanks for your reply. I also thought that MODCHG card would help me, but unfortunately MODCHG is not supported for a non-linear transient heat transfer subcase nor for transient heat transfer. Do you have any other idea?

    Thank you very much.

Unfortunately I can't think of another good way to do this.

Create two element sets one with  with contact nodes and other without contact nodes .

    Its like not applying globally.

For creating two elements sets use local coordinate system.
