Including CATIA Parameters in SimLab for DOE

Hello Everyone,

I just started using Hyperworks with some examples and found out that SimLab allows to Import CATIA design parameters and publications along with geometry.

But Unfortunately I get an error saying IMPORT Failed. Could anyone provide the possible reasons for this error??

Also one more question is if I can perform DOE with the CATIA design Parameters in Hyperworks through SimLab??

Thank you in advance

Could you share us which version of simlab you are using ?

Could share us Screenshot of the error while importing?

The File to Import is a  Knowledge base Template Assembly  (.CATProduct) with

Parameters and Relations in one part

    and Geometry in ther parts

Please find the Screenshot to  error I get in Simlab

Are you able to import any other .CATProduct files?I think importing catia files needs separate license.

Yes I am not able to Import any CATIA files let alone .CATProduct.

Does Simlab need an extra license for this??

Will it be possible to perform DOE in Optistruct with the CATIA Parameters when I get this License??

Yes It needs separate license & it is possible to perform DOE using Optistruct.

Will it be possible to Import CATIA Design Parameter in Hypermesh for Parameter Study or DOE.

We seem to be currently having a CATIA Reader for Hypermesh and not for SimLab.

If you have CATIA reader feature enable in license file then it should work for simlab also.

For DOE what solver you are using? You can also use Hyperstudy for DOE.

    1) With the current CATIA Reader,I am able to Import .CATParts in Hypermesh but without Design Parameters ( I didnot find an Option to Import Parameters along with Geometry)

And I get the same error IMPORT FAILED when I use Simlab for CATIA Files.

    2) As for the Parameters, the Goals are to :

Import CATIA Parameters in Hyperstudy  and find Parameters which are affecting the Design (Parameter Study)  and  perform a  DOE with the identified Parameters.

Import CATIA Parameters in Hypermesh/Simlab along with Geometry and try to change the CATIA imported Parameters as far as possible in Hypermesh after Topography Optimization in Optistruct.

Basically to automise the Design/Analysis/Optimization as far as possible with a CATIA link.

Please let me know if this is possible. Anyother suggestions/possibilities would be really helpful.
