Snow Leopard 10.6.4 Viewport slow response aka lagging

I downloaded the demo v8, my pc specs are:

Core 2 Duo 1.5 GHz

Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset/GMA X3100

1.5 GB RAM

The viewport is slow to respond, even when orbiting in the 3d viewport. But rendering is fast & normal. Is there a way to fix this ?

    I just tested v7.6a & it has no problems whatsoever, this bug is only in v8.

    The default graphics settings in 8.0 have been changed to better take advantage of the new higher-end graphics cards. In doing so a higher level of visual quality can be achieved that was not possible with 7.6. These new setting may not be optimal for your computer and graphics card. You can adjust the viewport quality by clicking on 'View', 'Detail' and selecting a low or medium setting. Also by selecting 'S' for shaded mode instead of 'W' for wireframe should improve the performance.
