How to make a complex geometry mappable?

I am working on a project that creates parts from soft/hard tissue images such as MRIs. After processing the 3D surfaces, I am having a very hard time meshing them due to the amount of surfaces that are contained on the object. Is there any way to make a complex, one volume geometry mappable so that I can effectively hex mesh it?

Thank you for your help

    pka1991,

We have several hex meshing videos in the training center that may help you - http://training.altairuniversity.com/ and also in the resource library in hyperworks.com

Have you tried shrinkwrap, Shrink wrap meshing is a method to create a simplified mesh of a complex model when high-precision models are not necessary, as is the case for powertrain components during crash analysis.  The model's size, mass, and general shape remains, but the surface features and details are simplified, which can result in faster analysis computation.  You can determine the level of detail retained by determining the mesh size to use, among other options.

    see

HyperWorks Desktop Applications > HyperMesh > User's Guide > Meshing > Surface Meshing:

    Shrink Wrap Meshing

Thank you, I will look into that. I tried shrink wrap but it changed the geometry of the part too much.

    Hello

If your model is complex you can mesh it in simlab. it's good for hexa modeling

anyway manual mesh in hypermesh is able but it's tedious and not conformable to beginner

Could you show us your 'complex geometry' ?

One thing you may understand: full hexa mesh is not applicable for any geometry.
