Message id: 44 - Segmentation violation

Hi everybody,

I'm doing explicit analysis on solid geometries with RADIOSS and, every time I launch the simulation, this message appear:

I've controlled if there are any shell elements, but there aren't any of them in my model.

What is the problem? this message is not really clear.

Hi Luke,

There are no errors reported in the starter out file. Please share the engine out file (_00001.out).

It will be easy to analyse if you can share the model and engine file (_0000.rad and _0001.rad) too.

Please find the files. Penetrations were also cleared in the model and the model is running fine.

Is there any other problem other than penetration in my files? Or was it the only cause?

Hi Luke,

Empty node groups were there, which were deleted and cleared the penetrations and the issue was resolved in your model.

Do you see the empty node groups in the set collectors or in the geometry? Regarding penetration, is there a tool that allow to detect them in Hypermesh?

Hi Luke,

I just noticed about this empty node sets in the starter out file (_0000.out).

We have penetration check option available in Tools. There are various options available to fix the penetrations. Tutorials are also available in the Help Menu.

dear @George P Johnson,

I tried to correct myself the issue tha you said me in the wrong model (delete empty set and fix penetration), but the problem still persist. Have you fixed something else?
