Dears,

I want to simulate a nonlinear spring. i have an experimental data of force and displacement, have input the data for the spring constant as a curve where the x-axis=displacement, y-axis=force. I have applied a force on the spring, but always getting the same displacement for different values of forces. Can any one help please

    Hi Aftab,

The curve is not defined properly in your model. Please check this.

    Aftab,

FYI, refer to the Defining Non-linear Properties Using Curves in MotionVIew help.

    Hi Aftab,

I have changed the force value in the curve randomly and I can see the change in output force.

Make sure you have given the right independent variable.

    Hi,

I'm interested in the same topic. I need to model a nonlinear spring having a curve. I tried to download the .zip file but it is corrupted.

What should I do in order to realize a mass spring damper system using a nonlinear characteristic?

    Hi @stefano1

You can simply create a mass and spring but provide nonlinear curve as suggested
