Hi,

I am trying to setup a model using Radioss Block format.  I would like to export the stress and strain state of the object.  I have been using the Engine File GUI but I cannot find where I set the parameters related to /STATE.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hannah

    Hi Hannah,

In control cards use Engine_State_DT to write a state file.

for more information, Please refer to /STATE/DT in  Altair RADIOSS > Reference Guide > Engine Input > Engine Keywords:

Thanks for your reply.  I am still struggling because I understand what information I need to enter but I cannot access the Engine_state_DT control card to input that information.  It is not available when I click control cards or tools>create cards.

    Cheers,

    Hannah

Thanks Prakash.  I have updated my version so now I can use the GUI to set up to get the .Sta file.  Now I am stuck on how to read in the .sta file into hyperview.  It seems like this should be straight forward but I think I am missing something.

    Thanks again,

    Hannah

    Hi Hannah,

it is not possible to open .sta file in HyperView.

Instead you can open the H3D or A0# files to review the results.

.sta file is used to set up further analysis. like multistage forming etc..

That makes sense.  Given that, how do I view the stresses and strains?  I don't get my stresses and strains in the H3D or A0# files but they are in the .sta file.

    Hi Hannah,

are you trying to simulate incremental or multistage using RADIOSS?

if yes, you have you output the STRESS and STRAIN through STATE command which will written to .sta file.

If not, can output STRESS and STRAIN data through ANIM_ELEM
