Have you checked if the ethernet ID is correct?

You need to confirm if the Ethernet address in the license file is the correct one and matches the one in your machine.

When you open the license file in a text editor you will see an Ethernet address there in a line that says 'ETHERNET =

The Ethernet ID is the id of your machine which is exactly 12 hexadecimal numbers. For example D4WRF478F398

Please check your computer’s Ethernet address, by using the almutil -hostid application from the Start > Altair > Tools > Admin tools Menu

The listed Host ID should be used to generate the license file, That means if the host ID provided by the application and below methods does not match the one in the license file, please request for the license file again with the correct Ethernet ID.

You can also find it by running ipconfig/all in command window and check for physical address under Ethernet adapter local area connection:

Alternatively run getmac in command window to find out available Ethernet addresses

    Hi Rahul Ponginan,

thanks for quick answer. But the license file seems to be correct - the ethernet IDs matches. Any other idea?

    The license file looks fine,

Are there any run options you are using while running the analysis? student edition may not support certain run options.

Please uninstall and reinstall HyperWorks (redownload the software from the site, do a checksum to see the installation file is not corrupted) and see if you still get the error,

You can also redownload the license file and try, or you can request for a new license file / create a new account with a different email ID and request for the license again (we will approve this as a special case)

    Thanks Rahul Ponginan,

i'll redownload the files and reinstall HW. Is this problem caused by the needed units for running RADIOSS. element number is below 1000.

The student edition should not have a unit problem since it uses a stand alone license,

Are there any run options you are using while running the analysis? student edition may not support certain run options.

There are kinematic constraints, springs, rbe2, rigid bodies, BCs: boundaries, imposed velocity

Okay. Yes indeed there are. I use -nt 8 for 8 threads of my i7-processor.

Can you please try to run after removing the run option -nt8 and let us know if the error repeats?
