ERROR # 7315 No DSHAPE grids are on the boundary

Hello,

I am new to Optistruct and having a repeating error for my 1D linear static free shape optimization of truss. When I try to run it w/Optistruct, the error that I get is:

*** ERROR # 7315 ***

No DSHAPE grids are on the boundary.

Any ideas about a possible reason for this error? I checked card of DSHAPE and everything looks ok.

Hi Kosa26,

Are you trying to move the nodes of the 1D elements or change the shape of the element it self?

Free shape works only for the nodes which are linked to surface or curve shape.

I'm trying to move the node of the truss. In the picture it's the node with the force.

Is there posibility to do optimization like this to minimize stress in the rodes moving one node of the truss?

Hi,

Shape optimization may come in handy for your case.

Move the node and create shape variables and run a shape optimization.

Please refer to help for readings and tutorials on shape optimization.

Can you check if there are nodes in DSHAPE available?

If not please update the same.
