Dear All,

I try to do simple heat transfer simulation by following OS-1385.

when I run the simulation I got Error 1000 message, I know that the CGAP material does not have material, but in the OS-1385, the CGAP also doesn't have material too.

Please your advise.

Best regards,

Iron_man

    Hi,

    Did you use node to node or node to element option when creating cgapG elements?

    dear @Prakash Pagadala,

    I use Nodes to Element, same as OS-1385.

    Hi,

    Looks like you have selected nodes and elements from same component.

    Try to create a node set for nodes which are in component1 collector and try again.

    Dear @Prakash Pagadala

    I have tried to separate the body to ensure that notes and elements I selected is clearly different, but I still get same error 1000.

    Herewith I attach new model,

    Thank you,

    Best regards,

    Hi @Prakash Pagadala,

    I tried to run Tutorial OS-1385 and got same error.

    I attach the .out file and .fem file.

    I think this is very strange, since I 've done all the steps in tutorial.

    Thank you.

    Dear @Rahul Ponginan,

    Please help me to check the OS-1385 tutorial,

    Is something wrong with the model or the optistruct solver?

    Thank you

    @Iron_Man59

    The error is with the quad elements which have a PGAP property. Delete those 2D elements and run the analysis.

    @Prakash Pagadala,

    Yes, your result is same with my result if we delete GAP element....

    But if I want to transfer the heat like in tutorial, how to do that?

    Thank you,

    @Iron_Man59

    I see some quad elements are created with gap elements. I am going to check this with experts and I will share the feedback soon.

    Hi @Prakash Pagadala,

    What is the progress of this problem?

    Did Altair team still working on it or already finish?

    Thank you,

    Hi @Iron_Man59

    Well if you try the same tutorial in HW 12.0 it will work but not in 13.0, 14.0 and 2017 because these versions create shell elements instead.

    We reported it and dev team is working on it. It would be fixed in next release.

    Hello @Iron_Man59

    I had the exact same issue a few days ago and i just solved it.

    It seems that the script used by HM to create CGAP elements remains unfinished so you have to perform a few steps manually to make it work.

    When you create the CGAP elements, HM creates temporary shell elements. Those elements are not visible yet, you need to hide then show your CGAP component to see those shells. You can suppress them, they are useless.

    The second issue is that the CGAP you created are not attached to the nodes you selected before in your nodeset. To solve this, you need to perform an equivalence (Tool > faces > equivalence) between your CGAP component and the mesh they are supposed to be attached to.

    With those two steps, the tutorial OS-1385 works just fine for me (on HW 14.0).

    Hi @Armand

    The problem solves if one creates CGAP manually. Best is to use Spot weld>> CGAP and that may work out.

    Hello, sorry for interrupting.

    I'm new in HyperMesh and I'm doing this tutorial too. My HyperMesh's version is 2019.1 and I have problems too with CGAP.

    I try in another model, attached in this message. I don't know why, but there isn't conduction between componentes...

    Could anyone help me, please?

    Greetings,

    DavidSol.

    Thanks for yor response Adriano A. Koga.

    Now it Works!

    Besides, I tryed the solution proposed by a guest on July 24, 2017, making use of spotwelds and it Works too.
