Evolve 3D Model To Autocad .dwg
The company I work for uses Evolve 2015 for product design, and we are trying to figure out how to export our models in a way that would allow the factories we work with to create 2D views in AutoCAD for their build plans. We want to end up with full scale drawings, as they often times print out at full scale to create patterns. We do need the drawings to be editable and dimensional, so I don't think a PDF will work for what we need.
I would have thought that exporting as a .dxf would be the way to go, but I have not had any luck reading this in autocad.
Do I need to do a drawing layout in Evolve and export that somehow?
If anyone knows of a way to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Which version of AutoCAD are you trying to open the file on? Can you please give us the version number?
Thank you.

Hi,
We have found that the export to dxf was incorrect because of layer management issues. We have fixed this problem and will be available in the next service release. Please update the program when the service release is available.
Thank you,

Arjun,
Thanks for the response and looking into that so quickly! This is good to hear!
In the meantime, we have been able to export the model as a .sat file and that will import into autoCAD. (At least in AutoCAD 2015 for Mac.)
I am looking forward to this next update.
On a related note, Is it possible to build an external materials library that I can just point to once I update my software?
As of now, we are manually picking out all of the individual materials we have added, and adding them to the material library in the newer version.
Thanks again,
Tyler
