Hello everybody.

I write because I need help to start to work with Optistruct. I am Mechanical engineering student and I'm doing my 'Final Proyect of the Career' (In my country, Spain, is the last and the most important work that we must to do in the University so is very important that you can to help me).

I'm making the structure of a drone multicopter, you can see a picture in this message (1º picture of the octocopter and other 2 of the frames that I want).

I have made with Autodesk Inventor all structure and now I want to optimize the main chassis, only the frames, and also I want to do a study of stress with Ansys, I know that I can do it with Hypermesh but I have only worked with Ansys.

Well, I only have 2 questions (in this moment).

1º I'm going crazy to search a tutorial that I saw one time. 3 months ago, I got a interactive tutorial in the Altair hyperworks website but my computer broke and I lost it and now I can not find it. The tutorial is like this http://www.altairhyperworks.com/(S(3fu2zyrlbyi03xcofiue25jd))/hwhelp/Altair/hw11.0/help/hwtut/hwtut.htm?hypermesh_tutorials.htm  but  I could to download it, in this link only is the movie or pictures and I can't interact with the video. You know what is my objective so please help me. I can't find it. I have the full tutorial but is to reading but this is more long and boring.

2º Is it possible to convert of ANSYS to Hypermesh for optistruct? I read Hypermesh to ANSYS but not the otherwise.

Please I need help... And excuse if I have written wrong something in english.

Thanks so much.

    Hi Javier,

    I can't open the images,so i don't know really about your problem.But i think,i understand you.

    1) I think you mention about 'examples' not 'tutorials' in help documents. You can reach there from the link below.

    file:///C:/Program%20Files/Altair/11.0/help/hwsolvers/hwsolvers.htm?examples_os.htm

    2) I am not sure about its quality, but you can convert your Ansys file to Optistruct file.To do this;please use; Tools>> Convert >> Ansys >> To Optistruct

    Hope it helps you.

    Regards.

    Javier,

Please go to Hyperworks.com and to the resource library, once there choose interactive tutorials

    http://www.altairhyperworks.com/ResourceLibrary.aspx

Yes you can convert from ansys to optistruct, go to tools > convert > ansys to optistruct

You can also learn topology optimization using the tutorials in the resource library and help and set the model up yourself,

    Javier,

you will need to register to the client center to have access for some material, please do so.

you can also set up this model for optistruct, go to the topology section of http://training.altairuniversity.com/

your model looks simple, you can actually follow the videos in topology optimization basic here

yes I registered myself days ago but is the same.. ' Sorry. You don't have access to this file. Please return to the login page and try again.' ¬¬'

I will create another count with other email.. maybe will work.

I have seen the links in traininguniversity and I saw the program Inspire.. and now I don't know what is better for me if Optistruct or Inspire.. The model is very simple because of that I want to optimize it perfectly with hyperworks.

    thanks!

    Javier,

Inspire is given free to students for one year, please request for the student edition from http://www.altairuniversity.com/

     http://www.altairuniversity.com/2014/01/11/hyperworks-12-0-student-edition-order-now/

and then you can download and use HyperWorks (including optistruct etc)
