Creating joints in hypermesh
Dear Altair-Team and community,
I build a 1D mesh of a spaceframe and I am just trying to model the wishbone (lila) to the steelframe (yellow).
I would do it with a revolut joint but I am not sure how to realise this.
I have the axis and two fix points.
How I adjust a joint right?
Thank you for helping!

Hi,
You can create a local coordinate system to adjust the orientation of the joint.
Create temporary nodes and create a local system. Use this system to orient your revolute joint.

Hey Prakash,
thank you for answering.
To understand the joint I created an example based on your Post, but I have a problem with the revolute joint.

I wanted to assigne a joint between a lever and holder. So I try to:
1) Select two nodes
2) Oriented along the x-axis
3) Creat (part of the holder)--> joint appears
But when I start OptiStruct in HyperView the joint is not there and there is no connection between lever and holder.
What I make wrong?

Andre

Could you please share the model file?

Hi,
Thank you for sharing the file.
Joints are not visible during postprocessing, but I see that there is no displacement at all in holder. I will check and update to you soon on this.
