Hi,

I am an absolute newbie to the software and have received no training on Hyperworks or with any other composite modelling software. I am designing a Monocoque chassis for the Shell Eco Marathon for my third year project and ran into the following error while running optistruct:

*** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data:
Incorrect data in field # 3.

************************************************************************

There were 6596 error messages during input processing.
The first message is repeated below:

*** See next message about line 7524 from file:
C:/Users/Ashbel/Documents/Altair files/Disso CAD/Final Chassis v1/Final chassis v1.fem
'CTRIA3 1 0 74 87 75 0'

*** ERROR # 1000 *** in the input data:
Incorrect data in field # 3.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried replacing the file as well as just importing the .fem file as a solver deck, however i get the same error:

Yes, its the student version.

Ash,

I am able to run the .fem file in 14.0 SE without any modifications. Make sure Import is set to all under Import Solver deck options.

HyperWorks 2017 Student Edition is out, please update.

Hi Prakash,

I have 14.0 version of the Student Edition. I assume this is the 2017 version.

I have ensured that the import option is set to all, however i appear to have the same error. An image of this is attached to the post.<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

The software once did state that the graphics card may be unsupported, could this issue be causing the problem?

If this is the case could I import the .fem file to abaqus? as i have access to it at university

Looks like the problem is coming from import options.

Try this file and import options as shown.

If that doesn't work, assign PCOMPP property to chasis component and run the analysis
