Hi,

I have chosen to use prop/type 8/spring to simulate a 6DOF knee element connecting the tibia and femur. I will need to fine tune the knee properties to match the EEVC WG17 bending and shearing standards.

I tried changing the spring mass, the value of stiffness or unloading stiffness (elastic spring) from 270MPa to 400MPa and etc, but there were no difference to the bending angle or shearing.

Kindly advice :

1. how can I tune the stiffness of the spring ?

2. Is any tutorial or explanation on the usage of this type of spring element?

Thanks.

Khoo

Type 8 spring is recommended to created with zero length, otherwise, it's may not work as you expected. Directly set its six stiffness as design variables, then use HyperStudy to do the Optimization - correlate your keen model is good choice.
