    Hi,

Error id 760 is a generalized modelling error. We need to review the model file to find the error.

Please update the elements, so that the element types will be updated to RADIOSS element types. For that, go to 2D pane;, select elem types panel. Select 1D, 2D&3D options and select all the elements, click update and try running.

If the issue persist please share the model file so that we can review.

I am still getting the same error. I have attached the file in this quote. Thank you so much for your help. Also, will the analysis still work in Optisturct if I change the 2D settings according to Radioss? And if I have done the analysis in Radioss, then can i still do the optimization in Optisrtuct?

    Hi,

Please share the *.hm or _0000.rad file.

Here we are only updating the element types. If you want to work on OptiStruct, please select OptiStruct as the user profile so that all the cards for the same will be loaded.

I had another question. If I am trying to carry out FE Analysis, can i keep both 2D and 3D mesh elements and still be able to do the analysis?

    Hi.

Just reviewed your file. This is not a RADIOSS solver file, but seems like an OptiStruct file.  Based on the type of analysis choose the solver and run the analysis.

I recommend you to download and go through our free ebook Practical Aspects of Finite Element Simulation (A Study Guide) which describes the basic guidelines of finite element analysis.

Yes, you can have both 2D and 3D elements in a model for doing an analysis.

Thank you for your help. I got a bit confused with the file names as I had run analysis on both RADIOSS and OptiStruct. Can you tell me if there are any modelling errors with the file I gave you?

    Hi,

There are multiple modelling errors in the model.

You have created solid property in the model but there are no solid elements in the model. For shell elements you can assign them with PSHELL property.

I think the model is not complete, that is there are components still need to be meshed.

You have created a load collector 'loads' but forces created are also in SPC load collector along with the boundary conditions. Please organize them.

Please clear these errors and try running in OptiStruct solver.

I wanted to know how to delete 2D mesh when my model has both 2D and 3D mesh? I deleted using tools>delete?elements>tria3 and quad4 (for 2D), but I am not sure why it is deleting the solid elements too

What i have done is that I have created 2D mesh for the 3 sub-regions (using automesh) and then made 3D mesh by Solidmap. Then i wanted to delete the 2D mesh and hence used delete from the tools pane.

    Hi,

This type I have used terta mesh and still have got the same error while doing the analysis. Can you please tell me the solution to this problem. I will also review the FE book. I have attached the .fem file over here.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

This error is because the load collector 'loads' is empty. The force created is also in SPC load collector. In the loadstep you have recalled te 'loads' load collector which is empty.

I just organized the load collectors, ie moved the force to 'load'load collector and the model is running fine.

Hi, Thank you so much for your help. I did the analysis and it does work. However, after opening in Hyperview, the mid-section of the model is not there in the result, i.e the designable component. Can i know why? I have attached the screenshot of the same.

    Thank you.

Thank you! I have been able to carry out the optimization for the model. Well can you suggest a method as to how i can plot the weight vs iteration plot of the model in hyperview?

    Thank you for your help.
