Hello, everyone.

I am a new student learning how to use Hyperworks Block Format to make thermal expansion simulation.

Sorry to write mails to bother you.

I just want to make a thermal expansion simulation.

First I used MAT1 and checked the /HEAT/MAT.

Second I used the /Therm_Stress/MAT as the property. ( /Therm_Stress/MAT can be only chosen in Property.)

I also used the imposed temperature for part of my model.

But After setting the engine file tool, I got the error below.

** WARNING IN MATERIAL DEFINITION
.. NODES
ERROR id : 178
** ERROR IN PART (PROPERTY)
IN PART NB 1
PROPERTY SET NB 1 DOES NOT EXIST
** ERROR TRAPPED : REPORT TO LISTING FILE
** ERROR TRAPPED

What does this mean? What is the Property Set NB 1?

Thank you so much.

Best wishes.

check if there is any property assigned to the part/component with name NB in your model.

    if not please do apply.

Hi. I have come across the same error and I have solved the problem in the following way:

first of all, I created a midsurface on the component named 'comp_name' with id 33 (bear in mind this number 33). Hence, I got a new component named 'Middle Surface' and I created the mesh on the component 'Middle surface'. Once I would run the analysis, I would get the error

    ERROR id : 178

    ** ERROR IN PART (PROPERTY)

    IN  PART NB 33

I tried to delete the component with the id 33 named 'comp_name' and the analysis worked.

    The question is: why?

    Hi Mirino,

Can you check where elements are organized after meshing?

is it in mid surface component or in comp_name?

Also, components should have \PART card image in RADIOSS.
