Element coordinate system for the composite core
Hi
I have to define material properties (Youngs and shear modulus in all the 3 directions) for the composite solid element.
I have used /PROP/SOL_ORTH card and as far as I know, Radioss defines the element directions relative to the element numbering convention.
Therefore for an extruded solid element for the core properties, t and r represent the in-plane directions and s represents the through thickness direction.
And therefore E11 and E33 are the in plane properties and E22 defines the through thickness properties with the orthogonal angle set to 0.
My question is if there is any other way to check or alter the co-ordinate system while modelling the core?
How would I modify the element coordinate system to replicate the global system?
Thanks

Hi Sharmap,
Firstly you must redefine the local axes for all the element in your model. You can use the tcl file (http://1drv.ms/1y5b51v) (i have this file from the altair support)
Secondly you modify the Ip (in /PROP/TYPE6 (SOL_ORTH)) to define the reference plane.
Sorry if my english is not correct but I hope it can help you.

Hello longct and sharmap,
Please upload the tcl script for renumbering the nodes used in defining property of composite /PROP/TYPE6 (SOL_ORTH). The file uploaded here is missing.
Thankyou.

Hi Akhil,
There are TCL scripts available for node renumbering on Script Exchange https://connect.altair.com/CP/script-list.html
