Characteristic element length of solid elements

Hello,

 

Does anyone know how RADIOSS calculates the characteristic element length of an 8-noded solid element?

    you can find it in Radioss manual

    it's vol/max area

    Hi,

     

    Please refer to theory manual chapter 5. 

     

    Element Characteristic length of a particular  element is computed as Element/largest surface side.
