Geometry healing issue after importing from STP

I have an issue after importing model from STP file.

I tried to heal geometry, detect & simplify lines, faces, volumes but while meshing it shows error:

Below you can see picture with these line and face:

After receiving error I tried to repeat detect & simplify faces but it shows error too:

Do you know it could be typical issue with STP model importing?

I do not see any geometrical fails but maybe you can see the source of issue and way of resolve.

Hi Bartosz,

It differ from case to case and it depends on your specific step file. Although Flux has simplification and healing tools for CAD file, it can't always fix all the issues with the geometry. which typically means you have to go back to your CAD tool and try to correct those problems over there. If the geometry is not correct the mesh will usually fail. you have to make sure that the geometry is correct first.

It is difficult to know what is wrong with the geometry without having the Flux project or the step file. If you can share them (keep in mind this is a public forum), I can take further look into the issue.

Thank you for quick response.

I think that out better understanding of geometry import problems could be really usefull for our projects.

I can share Flux model with this element only. It would be pleasure to discover the source of problem and way to resolve (best for us - in Flux environment).

Could you provide the safe way to share the model?

Hi Bartosz,

If it is okay for you to share it here, you can just use the "add attachment" option at the bottom of the reply.

If not the best will be to create a support ticket (through your Altair one account) and add the model there and one of our AE will get back you.

If you can't create a ticket let me know and I can share a link with you to upload the model.
