Usually, the pshell is used for 'thin shell'.

But for 'thick shell', how to establish the model using 2D element in OptiStruct (not in RADIOSS )

Thanks for your help

I don't think  using solid element is a good method if the 1/6<thickness/length<1/3

For what type of part you wanted to use thick shell formulation?

You can use  Pshell in large thickness shell applications and nothing bad will happen.

    See attached screensot.

Thank you Rahul! I just want to compare OS with other softwares like abaqus. Abaqus have different types of element(property) for thin and thick shell.

Do you mean that we can only use pshell for both thin and thick shell??

    Hi HuangZhou,

If you are interested you can try TSHELL in RADIOSS which is a thick shell element.
