I went through this tutorial for my own design and the model attached: http://forum.altairhyperworks.com/index.php?/topic/14501-lattice-structures/

I can't get the new .fem to show up - I get an error stating:

 *** WARNING # 1495
 Unknown bulk data card: 'LATTICE'.

and

  NOTE # 6183
DOPTPRM, POROSITY is valid with lattice optimization only.
Optimization problem is set to regular topology.

I think it has something to do with how I added the card. The attached image is a snip from my .fem text file. What am I doing wrong?

    Hi davewalker348,

    Try this:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>post-7616-0-88408500-1427431662_thumb.jp

Thanks, but I couldn't get that to work either.  I keep getting error 1484, field 3 contains embedded blanks if I try it with the '+'.

However, I noticed you said there is no way to export the model anyway. If thats the case, lattice doesn't do me any good.

    Hi Dave,

Paste this as it is: +       LATTICE 1       0.050   0.80  (Starting from '+') and try again, Looks like you have either given more spaces or deleted spaces in between.

I feel like I tried that a ton of times - whatever the difference was it worked. Thanks!

Is there any way to export the geometry?  Perhaps in IGES or STEP form. If so, what is the process for OSSmooth (ie which .fem and .sh do I select).

    Thanks

    -Dave

    Hi Dave,

There is no way to export a lattice optimized structure for now. Our developers are working on it and I hope some feature to export lattice structure to .stl or other supported formats will be available for 3D printing   image/emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>
