hello sir,

sir i have a problem, sir i am solving a problem in which a rigid ball is dropped on a steel plate, ball contain 2d mesh on its surface and 1d rigid element, initial velocity is applied on the centre node of rigid, deformation only occur in plate not in ball. sir i have problem in creating interface, please tell me how to create interface of type 7,on which component i have to create contact surface

Since you are using Rigid ball there will be no deformation on ball. Rigids are having infinite stiffness hence no deformation on ball.

Refer Radioss online tutorial for defining Interface Type 7.

When a component is made rigid no stresses will be developed in that component. That means, as Rahul told no deformation will happen in the rigid body.

When you want a general interface use type 7. Assign the master elements and slave elements and update it. Practise like, make the fine meshed elements as master and other as slave. Before coming out of contacts panels please click review button so that u can see the interface in blue and red colour, which means u have successfully defined the interface.

For this ball drop model, no need to create a contact surface. Just make a general interface (type 7). Please let us know your progress in this.
