Evolve 2015 (4848) For Mac
I have been trying to run the latest version of Evolve 2015 (4848) on a Mac Pro and I cannot get it to run, it gets to the Evolve menu and then just sits there with no menu items and nothing happening, have to FORCE QUIT to get rid of it.
Have also tried it on a 13' MacBook Retina and it has the exact same issues. Sure would be nice to be able to run the latest version.
Any ideas what is going on?
PS: I did also post this on the hardware forum!

We received some console reports from Robin and after thorough analysis, here is what the developers have to say:
The process causing the problem is 'ouc' that we don't recognize. Maybe it is a process created by the License Wizard, but for sure, it is not from Evolve.app
Also, the stack trace is strange because we do not use Qt, this is another thing that lead us to think that this is an LW process.
The only interesting thing is the warning about the Gestalt selector that Evolve is actually using. We are aware that it is indeed a deprecated function but it works on the final release of OSX Yosemite. Since the user is running a developer preview of 10.10.3, our idea is that the OS X is blocking the application on the deprecated function in order to help the developer find and substitute these deprecated functions, but in the final release of the 10.10.3 those functions must work otherwise the applications that still use those functions (and there are many) will not work.
So at the end, if the user wants to use a beta version of OSX he should also be aware that he can face some problems due to the fact that the OS is in beta and it is made for the developers and not for the end users.0 -
Well Apple released the final version of 10.10.3 today and as I suspected this had zero effect on Evolve 2015 running! I think it was a little disingenuous trying to shift the blame onto either me the user for using a BETA OS, or the OS when the blame clearly does not lie with the OS. As a developer myself I have to wonder why are you using deprecated calls in the first place.
Bottom line is that the developers assessment of the problem is clearly incorrect, because all of my other applications have continued to work with out problems on the BETA versions of the OS and now that the FINAL has been release they still continue to work, with one exception Evolve 2015 is the only app that will not run!
So clearly the problem does not lie with the OS but with your software.
Hope we see a fix soon as it would be nice to be able to use the software we own!

I had the same problem but it depended on the mac machine. The trouble mac (mac pro) experienced the same. On that computer, there is an administrator and some user accounts. I had to install the evolve in the administrator account, then it worked.

Hmm, can you explain a little more how you accomplished this so I can try it out, may Mac Pro only has two accounts, mine and a guest account, mine is the admin account and that is where Evolve was being installed, or at least that is where I think it was being installed. How did you specify that it be installed in the admin account, did it simply mean you where logged into that account when you did the install?

Then try to install it on the guest account and leave the option that all can access/use the program in cmd-i (program information)

Hi guys,
Good news. We have fixed the issue with Evolve 4848 and the cause was some new security features included by Apple in 10.10.3
We will be uploading the latest build on our website soon.
It will be announced on the forum once its ready for download. We appreciate your patience.
Thanks,
Evolve team.
