Section Cut Files <filename>SC01

Hello,

I have a bunch of section cut outputs (created using Isave flag = 2 in the cross section collector) stored in SC files. Is there anyway to open and read the data written in these files? Similar to how time history files can be opened in Hypergraph to plot the data stored in them.

I have some errors in my sub-model that are definitely caused by my SC files. I have eliminated other potential sources of error to the best of my knowledge, so being able to 'read' the data in the section cut files is essential to debug the sub-model.

Please let me know if this is possible.

Hi,

For the cross sections created, define output blocks for the same and with which you can plot the time history in HyperGraph. Check/TH/SECTIO in Help which shows the outputs you can extract using this.

Thank you for your response but I think you have misunderstood the question.

I can plot the section outputs in Hypergraph to check the results stored in the Time History file. I already have TH/SECTIO defined where needed. But the file I use as input for my sub-Model is the Section Cut file (filename_SC01). (This is done by choosing ISave = 100 or 101 in the cross section collector)

This is causing a lot of erroneous loading in my sub-model that do not exist in the actual (complete) model. The best way to debug this is to understand the data in the SC file. Hence, I am trying to open and 'read' the SC files. They are written in ASCII, like a Time History Output file, so I am wondering if any of Altair's software can open the data to display 'readable' content.
