Hi all,

When I defined cgap(g) elements between two parts, I got a error message 'Failed to create gaps at 126 nodes. Try changing search tolerance'. However, the search tolerance had been set large enough I think, and the error message still existed even though I set a larger search tolerance.

I don't know why this happen. Could anyone help? The attachment is my model.

    Hi @Roy Duan

Thank you for sharing the file. I am looking into this issue.

Meanwhile as a workaround, use Connectors>> Spot>> Gap to create gap elements.

    Hi Roy Duan,

Looks like there is a problem with node to elements CGAP creation, Please use Connectors>>Spot>>Change the weld type to GAP and create welds. This creates GAP elements and at the end delete the connectors retaining the FE (GAP elements)

    Hi Prakash,

Could you give a detail information? I cannot find the Connectors>>Spot as you said. In addition, could you get a reasonable result by using the method  you mentioned?

    Thank you

    Roy
