enclosing a mesh

how do  we enclose a mesh and what does the error ' xxx elements are outside of mesh volume and discarded' while doing a tetramesh??

    could you share us hm file for better understanding?Check for T-joints  & duplicate elements.

    Hi Jahnavi,

     

    The mesh is enclosed when there are no free nodes. Check if there are any free nodes in your model using equivalence option. If there are free nodes try to connect to the adjacent nodes. 

     

    Not sure about the error message, but do you have any 2D elements?

     

    if possible can you share the entire error message?

    while doing tetramesh only 0 nodes and 2 elements are formed for solid model which one is preferred volume tetramesh or tetramesh??

    Jahnavi,

     

    To use volume tetra you need a close volume geometry. 

     

    I think you have 2D elements in your model which you are using for tetra mesh and these elements are causing the problem.
