Optistruct : connecting 2 parts with screw

Hi,

 

i want to connect these 2 parts with a screw. what could be the best approach in Optistruct ?? (i thought of connecting with rigid elements and giving 0 displacement but that seems not the right way....or could be ?? )

 

Please suggest.

    Hi,

    When I had to connect two parts with a screw I used two RBE connected with a CBUSH. But maybe someone else can give you a better solution.

    Hi Palash,

     

    When we think about a screw, its a revolute joint, which has 5 DoF constrained and one is free and this free DoF is the axis of rotation.

     

    Maybe you can have RBEs with Beam as the screw and constrain according to your requirement.
