Material Cards For Non-Linearity

Please can anyone suggest me how can I define stress-strain curves for Beam elements.

which material card do I need to use to define stress-strain curve (Plastic region) for Beam elements (1D).

I used MATS1 it works for shells, but it doesn't supports Beam elements.

Hi Arjun,

MATS1 is not supported for 1D elements in the current HW version.

This is under development and maybe available in future version.

You can try with MATx36, but it is compatible with NLGEOM analysis.

If you use MATS1 with Beam/Bar elements, you will end up with the following error:

*** ERROR # 1576 ***
for material id = xx referenced from property id = xx.
MATS1 is presently not supported for 1D elements.
