Type of analysis

Hi,

Please suggest type of analysis for following requirement;

A 100 kg of load is just kept on a can(no loading).

After 24 hours, I want to check the behavior of can,whereas is there any dent or buckling of can??

    Hi Tushar,

    Can you refer OS-1040 tutorial from Help Menu, which is a Buckling Analysis using OptiStruct.

    Hi Tushar,

    I think you can first go for a basic static analysis and check the stress and displacement plots. If stress seems higher than yield stress, then you can go for specific type of analysis. But at initial stage, static behaviour itself will give you good idea about the response from can.
