error 1599
Altair EmployeeWhile running the linear static analysis, I am getting an optistruct?radioss error 1599.
I have used hex elements with 1% of penta elements to build my FE model. Please help me out with this. Thanks in advance.

Looks like material property is not defined properly.I request you to use latest student edition version 14.0.We have stopped development of Version 9.0 & 10.0.
Student edition is free for Academic user.If you can share .fem file i can correct things appropriately & update you exact mistakes.
Final Comment from my side is to use latest version.

I got my mistake. But in hyperview it is not showing the result. Find the the attached .fem file

Looks like some problem while defining load.Please delete existing load & recreate on same location.It would work.

The error is not yet been removed, I think the error is due to the elements, when I select the elements by configuration>hex8, then only hex elements of non design area gets selected, other hex element remains unselected.

But in topology optimization, I am gettingthe Optistruct error 762.
Find the attached fem file for the same.

Under Topology draw direction manufacturing constraints (Obstacle) you have selected Design region instead of Non design region.That is the reason for error.
Also check your Mindim value.In user guide you would get detailed information about Mindim.

Hi Rahul,
I am getting another error as Optistruct error 339 on my full model. The above models was 1/5th of the total model, as it is cyclic symmetric and the results were likely to be in accurate for topology optimization. Or else suggest the symmetric boundary condition for the above model. I know about the half symmetric and quarter symmetric boundary conditions, but didn't know how to do it for 1/5th of the model. Attached herewith .fem file.

I dont see any design constraints in your model.Refer recommended topology optimization setup & example for cyclic symmetry output.Aslo refer optistruct topology optimization online tutorials.
