Plot elements

Hello,

 

I want to measure the displacement between to plates that are not connected to each other. So I created PLOTEL between the two plates. But now, I have the problem that the nodes connecting the PLOTELs don`t move. Can you tell me where my mistake is?

Hi,

 

PLOTELs are dummy elements and is not used during anlysis phase.

 

You can use RBEs or other 1D elements.

We can use tool edges to create feature elements all along the free edges of your model, these can later be used to create shell cross sections and change the configuration of these feature elements to create 1D feature models of the original solid or shell models.

Plotel elements can also be converted into CBAR and CBEAM elements.
