error id 611 initial penetration

Sir, i got an error in interfaces saying initial penetrations of value 1.5mm i kept inacti as 6 and all other cards are according to the recommended values from crash book, is there any way to remove these inital penetraions or i have to remove manually?

Hi Ramakiran,

In HyperMesh 2017 we have a collison detection tool where you can fix these penetration very easily. Please go through the below post which shows the same.

If you are having an older version, go to Tools>Penetration Check and fix them either manually or automatically using this tool. I'm attaching a document on Penetration Check for your reference. Also you can go through HM-3320: Penetration tutorial in Help Menu which shows fixing penetrations.

effect of intersection on result ?

Hi,

Initial intersections and penetrations can lead to weird behavior of the model. These will also lead high negative energy in the model during running.

So it is always recommended to remove intersections and penetrations from the model.
