Apply moment on axis

Dear Sir,

I would like to apply a moment on the entire outer surface of the model attached (hollow cylinder).

I know that normally a moment have to be applied on an RB3 element.

I created an RBE3 element along the central axis and then connected it to all the nodes on the outer surface (see attached file).

Would this make sense? I am not sure that every nodes are then subjected to the same condition.

Is there a better way to apply the moment on an entire axis and not just a point?

Thank you in advance

    Hi Prakash,

What are the default units of the moment? N*m or N*mm?

HyperMesh is unit neutral. It is upto user to maintain unit consistency.

So if I am applying the load in Newton and I leave the material data as default I have to insert the moment in N*mm correct?

    Hi Mike,

Would be better if you have material data with MPA or N/mm, Tonnes or Kg/mm^3 when you have your load components in N and mm which maintains unit consistency and results easily readable and understandable.
