Hi there,

I am working on a design for a bed frame and I'd like to add some bedding to the final rendering - something simple like a sheet covering a mattress (and pillows). I've tried working with Pixel Map on a fabric image to create the folds and contours but haven't achieved the desired effect. Do you have any suggestions on how best to approach creating fabric folds (something like image attached)?

Thanks,

Nigel

    Hello,

Have you tried using a polynurb plane?

To be more specific you can use the PolyNURBS objects like a PolyPlane for sheets and PolyCubes for pillows.  You will need to increase the number of faces/edges/vertices in order to gain the right amount of control over the surfaces.  Or for a sheet I find it just as fast to just create a series of NURBS curves acting as the profiles and use the Loft or Skin tool to create a quick surface.  Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the suggestions. With some more experimenting with increasing the number of faces etc to planes I have started achieving the desired results. I think I was just fishing for a magic 'fabric' tool but I just needed to play around some more image/emoticons/default_smile.png' alt=':)' srcset='/emoticons/smile@2x.png 2x' width='20' height='20'>
