Hello,

I have a problem with the convergence of a nonlinear quasistatic calculation of a solid model.

Attached you can find the .hm file of it.

I want to consider nonlinear material behaviour by using a TABLES1 Collector starting at the yield strength for a MAT1 Material

The longitudinal beam has one groove in the middle where it should start to buckle.

So one front surface is firmly fixed and the second side is fixed by translation. The displacement is placed at the second front surface with an SPCD and the deformation is 30 mm.

I wanted to analyse the difference between large and small displacement but unfortunately both calculations end with a convergence error.

For this I increased the number of increments but the result is still the same.

Can you tell me, where the problem is?

    Hi,

I played with the iteration numbers and I am able run till the end.

I am attaching the animation, out and .fem file for your reference.

    Dear Mr. Pagadala,

thank you for your fast response.  Even if it worked by you, I had some problems to reproduce the solution.

It was a little bit difficult to solve the problem but now it works.

I wondered that it worked by you with almost the same preferences, especially because I started with a number of increments of 10 and increased the number step by step.

I started your .fem file and it failed to converge, too.

But I found the difference. The solver Optistruct was still installed in the basic version 13.0.

Now I updated hypeworks and installed the available hotfixesto version 210 for it.

    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,

I hope the model is working fine with the update.

    Hi,

I think large displacement with MATHE is supported from 14.0. Please update to the latest.
