I am performing a modal analysis and I am wondering if it is valid to use contacts between the components in my model or is it only with static analysis that contacts can be used?

Theoretically, Contacts, basically a nonlinear entity will be ignored during a linear modal analysis.
You may have to hence fix the contacts / replace that area with spring elements.
