I want to optimisation in pipes of different diameters connected to each other. What boundary condition (like loads and constraints) I can input. If I only want to see topology optimisation.

    Hi Swapnil,

Please get in touch with your guide or professor regarding loads and boundary conditions for your use case.

    Hello Prakash,

I want to now about, if there a fluid flow from a pipe of two different diameters with no external force. Only an inlet and outlet is there.

then what will be the case??

    Swapnil,

Why do you want to do a topology optimization and why not a size optimization?

Topology optimization will distribute the material by adding or removing material on the structure. This may result in holes and voids.

I have the pipes of 2 different diameters, I have attached the screen shot of the model. If I want to simply optimise it.

    How can I proceed ?

    Hi,

Depending upon your output.if you want to optimise for stress or displacent responses you can set up optimisation deck.

As mentioned above in prakash reply that topology optimization will remove material and give optimal distribution plot for given loading condition.removing material in pipe is not logical.Hence we proposed you to go for size optimization, where you would get correct thickness of pipe for given loading condition.

We request you to work on Optistruct size optimization tutorial.

Since pipes are involved and flow of liquid is there.keeping cfd parameter you can do size optimisation using Hyperstudy.
