Internal programming error
Hello,
I was trying to run a lattice optimization. Every time I start the 2nd optimization, Optistruct aborts, printing the following message:
*** INTERNAL PROGRAMMING ERROR ***
in file 'appdrv.F', at location # 1016.
**** ABORTING RUN DUE TO AN INTERNAL ERROR ****
Can I somehow fix this?
Hoping for a quick answer,
Julian

Hi Julian,
Not sure what is causing the error,
Is it possible for you to share the .out file and model file with us?

Hello Prakash,
I sent the fiels to you via your FileTransferLink. I really hope you can help me.

Hi,
There are huge number of design violations written. What changes have you made after 1st phase of optimization?

Hi,
I shared a file with you through file transfer link. Please run the same at your end and check if that is through errors.

I think I only changed the objective to minimize mass.

I am currently testing it. In case it works: what change did you make? I have another optimization with a similar problem.
Greetings and thank you,
Julian

the shared file does work. But I think you chose the wrong stress as a constraint. I noticed that after the optimization and have changed the constraint. The optimization is now still running, but it looks like the contraints will not be met. Ergo, I have to redo the first optimization so that there's less lattice and more solid material. To get it to run, please tell me , what changes you made to the model.
Hopeful greetings,
Julian

Hi,
There are two stress responses on same design space and this is the reason for errors. I deleted the duplicated and retained one.
