can i insert dynamic loading such as earthquake data for optimization in a model? if i can, is there any tutorials to show me how is done?

    Hi,

Please refer to this tutorial OS-3030 Random response optimization

I took a look of the tutorial and it doesn't seem like what I'm looking for. Maybe I can show you what I'm doing to have a better understand of my question.

Our project is to find a optimized shape from a shell model with load and constrain applied to it. The shell model act as a simulation of a tall building. When we applied load and constrain to the model, we want to look for the existence of the optimized shape. With the current process, we are able to find the optimized shape that we are looking for when we vary the min/max member size. However, the optimization process only use static load to find the shape. Our goal is to add dynamic loading into the optimization process to see what type of optimized shape it will give us or any difference. However, from most of my research at this time, dynamic loading are for analysis and not for optimization. Also i saw, method call equivalent static load to change dynamic load into static load. Will this method work in my project? if not is there any other way to set dynamic load as input for optimization?

    Hi,

What type of load is applied?

Is it time based or frequency based load?

both, but i think we start with frequency based load first then try to move on toward time base.

    Hi,

You can do a Frequency response optimization. Here is a tutorial for the same: OS-2095: Frequency Response Optimization of a Rectangular Plate
