Hi everybody,

I'm doing a shape optimization analysis and, when I launch the simulation, it give me this error:

2016-11-10 16_59_48-HyperWorks Solver View _test_12x1.5_arkema_opt.fem_.png

how can I resolve this issue?

Thanks,

Luke31

    Hi Luke31

Can you share the entire .out and .stat file?

tell me if they are correct, since I have a lot of these same file with numbering at the end.

Do you have NLOUT in your model? If available try running after deleting NLOUT command.

    Hi Luke31,

What is the type of analysis you are running?

In out file it says, you have a MATX## card. This only supports for Non-linear geometric analysis.

Also, NLOUT is not supported if you are using Linear static as analysis type.

    dear @Prakash Pagadala

my Analysis is a non-linear static analysys, without material plasticity. the MATX card was left by mistake.

when i run this analysys, the previous error disappear and the simulation start, but it give me a new error:

    error optù.png

what compliance is? I've non defined a Compliance response

    regards,

    Luke31

    Hi @luke31

Looks like the loads too large or there must be some modelling errors. Check the following:

    1) check if there are any free nodes using Equivalence panel

    2) Check if the material units are consistent with rest of the model parameters.

I fixed some problem and now the process of optimization started! the only problem is that the design stop at the first iteration without makimng any change. what could be the problem? How can I share the flle with you?

    Hi Luke31,

Looks like all the constraints are violating and this is the reason there is no convergence.

Can you share the file please?

    Hi Luke31,

is this the same model which you were using?

Ran till 2nd iteration and came out to be a feasible design and also all constraints are satisfied.

    Attached the .out file

no,now that you make me notice that, it's different. I changed the initial Desvar value from 0 to 0.5. the strange thing in results, however, is that the inner layer has changed in a different way (tangential pertubation) from the shape I defined (radial perturbation):

my file .out is the same as yours.

    Hi Luke31,

When you created shapes, did you use cylindrical system to define shapes?

I remember that before doing the shape, I created the cylindrical system. then, I don't remember if I made the shape perturbation by moving the handles with the 'interactive' or 'translate' option. could the first one be the problem?

    Luke31,

This could be the problem, as the nodes perturbation is user defined.. I will check with translate with local cylindrical system and will update to you soon.

So, I see that the local system is not assigned to the shape.

Can you try Translate option in HyperMorph and use the local cylindrical system to create shapes?
