Hello. I'm trying to import a solid which I have created in some FE software but when I import the .igs, what I get is not a solid but just a series of surfaces with a hollow inside. How can I fix this?

You have a couple options.  From your FE software you can save the model as a STEP file if that is an export option (STEP is usually best for solids, and IGES is usually best for surfaces).  The other option is to use the Multi-Combine tool in Evolve to create a solid object.  There is a Combine and a Multi-Combine.  Since you don't have construction history to worry about the Multi-Combine while allow you to quickly drag-select everything and apply the Multi-Combine.

    Thanks,

    Hi SolidNoob,

You can also try using the PS-Beta translators when opening IGES/STEP files. Select the file, choose IGES-PS-Beta from the file type drop down list and then click Open.

We have noticed the Beta Translators work better in some scenarios.

    Thanks,
