unable to solve ERROR # 605
Hello,
I am receiving this following error message:
ERROR # 605
Element 917177 is referenced by STACK 1 (on PLY 2) and by
STACK 2 (on PLY 12) simultaneously.
I looked at previous topics about this error message and checked the stacks to make sure the same ply is not used in both stack 1 and 2.
But I am still having difficulty in finding and changing the ply property of the element in the error message. Does anyone know how I should proceed to solve this error?
Thank you
Muge

Hi Muge,
When you run a model with multiple stacks (laminates) and one of the plies has no element set define, it results in a confusing error that elements are in multiple stack cards. It looks like OS assumes all elements (of a laminate?) are referenced on a ply without a set.
Try to recreate PLY2 and reference again.

Hello Prakash,
Thank you for your reply. I tried recreating PLY 2 but I am still getting the same error message. I also double checked and made sure that each ply has a set. Any other recommendation would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much,

Hi,
Is it possible to share the model file?
Please use the file transfer link in my signature to share the model file.

Hi Muge,
Plys which share same elements cannot be used in different laminates. In your case Ply ID with 12 and Ply ID 2 share common elements

Hi Prakash,
How can I locate the shared elements and how can I eliminate those in one of the plies?
Thanks,

You can review the plies to easily identify the elements or use review of sets.

In the error message it says element 917177 is used in both PLY 2 and PLY 12 however when I review the sets I can't find such element. I also checked other plies, this element is not in any of them. Is it possible that error message is giving a wrong element number?
Thanks,

Hi Muge Candogan,
Please see this video. I reviewed both element sets and they have same elements.
